Iberian Wolves

As its name suggests, the IWRT is focused on studying the Iberian Wolf population in Spain.

Its activities include tracking wolves via radio collars with a special emphasis on researching possible wolf/dog hybrid animals in the wild. GPS collars are used as well as traditional methods such as looking for wolf scat and listening for howling.

Other lines of study include wolf/prey interactions, both regarding wild prey and predation on domestic livestock, as well as investigating the occurrence and effects of disease in wild wolf populations.
